Stainless steel θ ring packing (stainless steel mesh ring packing) by 60 ~ 100 mesh wire mesh rolling forming, diameter and height is equal, commonly used materials include: stainless steel, copper, etc.. Also known as Dixon filler.

The hysteresis of θ ring packing is larger than that of the same kind of solid packing, and the surface wetting of θ ring is more complete than that of ordinary porcelain ring, and the film forming rate is higher, so the efficiency is also higher. The theoretical plate number of θ ring packing decreases with the increase of packing size and column diameter, especially for the packing of small diameter column, the increase of column diameter makes the theoretical plate number decrease greatly. It increases with the increase of gas velocity and decreases with the decrease of surface wettability of filler. It has the characteristics of good mass transfer effect, high plate efficiency and easy filling.
