Molecular sieves need to pay attention to the following points in the storage process:
moisture protection: molecular sieve is easy to absorb moisture, so it should be avoided to be directly exposed to the air during storage, and should be placed in a dry place, and make sure that the molecular sieve stored for a long time is regenerated before use.
2. Avoid oil and liquid water: oil can block the pores of molecular sieve, especially when regeneration is possible to carbonise the oil, resulting in the blockage of pores. At the same time, because the molecular sieve releases heat when absorbing water, liquid water in direct contact with zeolite may produce a large amount of heat release, which may be dangerous or damage the performance of molecular sieve.
3. Pay attention to the pressure change: the molecular sieve tower with pressure effect should slowly reduce the pressure in the tower when the regeneration conversion is carried out. If the pressure is too high, it will cause the molecular sieve particles to be broken and pulverised. The higher the regeneration temperature, the safer the regeneration will be, but the energy consumed for regeneration will also increase, and the life of the molecular sieve will be shortened. Usually the regeneration temperature shall not exceed 600℃, otherwise the activity of molecular sieve will be decreased.
4. Avoid contacting with harmful substances: molecular sieve should avoid contacting with harmful substances during storage to avoid chemical reaction or pollution.
5. Regular inspection: In the storage process, the appearance, colour, smell and other indicators of molecular sieve should be checked regularly, and whether its performance indicators are normal. If abnormalities are found, timely measures should be taken to deal with them.
6. Follow the storage period: different types and specifications of molecular sieves have a certain storage period, and exceeding the period may affect its performance. Therefore, in the process of storage, we should pay attention to check the production date and shelf life, and follow the storage period.
7. Keep constant temperature: molecular sieves should be stored under constant temperature conditions to avoid temperature fluctuations affecting its performance. At the same time, direct sunlight and high temperature environment should be avoided.
