 According to the production process is divided into synthetic natural zeolite, synthetic pure zeolite, synthetic ion exchanger and synthetic silica-aluminium gel. 14.Natural molecular sieves are mixtures of various inorganic hydrous silica-alumina salts with a stable tetrahedral structure and many different sized pores to adsorb molecules of different sizes. According to iupac, this type of adsorption is referred to as a molecular sieve when the pore size is approximately twice the diameter of the molecule. Therefore, natural zeolite is a natural molecular sieve. The main varieties of natural zeolite are calcium zeolite, sodium zeolite and mercerised zeolite.

Industrial grade molecular sieves are mainly used to separate and purify gas or liquid mixtures; catalyst grade molecular sieves are mainly used in petroleum catalytic cracking and other catalytic reaction processes.
